    Big John's GPRSHO build

    has anyone tried using the 1.8L NA motor in a GPR hull yet, curious about what speeds and performance we would be able to achieve ??? torn between selling my VXS or using it as a donor to get it onthe water, then swapping it to a SHO motor later down the road.

    My fx140ho in a GPR hull goes 70 should do better with a ride plate. I hope that helps a little

    Thats slower then his VXS. He was riding mid 90s yesterday on a slow SD conversion. LOL.

    i'm definitely looking to get into the high 80's to mid 90's range, my vxs will do 70+ and that's just too slow to ride with our crew !! but considering the fact that no one is biting on my VXS in the classified, it might become a donor ski soon enough, just not got to see mid 80's in NA form.......

    Why not turbo the VXS? I mean going to a gpr you are going to give up handling and spend a ton of cash vs throwing 6k at a turbo setup.

    I dont agree that you would give up handeling going to a gpr...
    But even though i love gpr conversions i would more then likely agree with turbo charging the vxs
    Whats the thoughts ?

    You are probably right. I was thinking my water type (rough) vs smoother water. I have never rider a Vxs so basing it on what others have said.

    A gpr handles night and day different compared to a vxs, a gpr handles damn good! I don't think the vxs hull is built that good to handle the speeds of the turbo plus, why would he waste 6k in a turbo and run mid 80s plus the upkeep of a turbo, and I also think a turbo wouldnt hold up to the stress of as much riding as they do, jmo.
