    absolutely replace that because it looks like C clip groove is corroded/rusted. If that C clip comes out your ski sinks.

    I've seen worst and people use it. Put it to a big wire wheel to remove the rust. If the "C" clip groove is good and the splines are good, use it!

    The splines on both ends is what you need to look at in my opinion.
    c clip grove needs to show no signs or wear too.
    All the pitting on the middle of the shaft does not matter or atleast I have not seen one break in the middle.
    They break at the splines.

    splines are fine. For some reason the prop splines look rusted, they are not. The middle is rusted pretty bad. I think I need to clean up where the top hat rides.

    The clip does not spin on the shaft, it stays in place on the shaft as the shaft spins.
