Started in '89 on a brand new Kawi JS 55O standup. Rode that for a couple of years and then got a 1989 Sea-Doo SP 580 in a box..... every single part disassembled. Put that together and rode it for a season or two but constantly had problems. At the time we (5 couples) were making yearly trips to Lake Winn. in New Hampshire. The trip was planned again in '93. The SP blew on a Sunday, we were leaving on Thursday. I went to Coffeils Sport and Power and said what do you got? They said we got this new SL 750. I said if I take it, can you have it ready to roll on Wednesday as I'm leaving on Thursday? They said absolutely. I've owned almost every brand since then, but I'll always have a soft spot for Polaris.

Circa 1993 on the CT. River. The people on the party boat were lovin' it!!!! lol.....

The boat was throwing a mean (perfect) wake and I used to be Crazy, A? lol.... I've actually been higher. I found another pic. Quality ain't great because it's a picture of a picture. If you look close, you can see my buddy behind and to the left of me wondering what to do. I have some real good Sea-Doo jumping pics too but I'm trying to stay Polaris related. Oh well, the good old days before degenerative discs in the back coupled with knee and hip issues. If I knew what getting old was gonna be like, I would have been much nicer to myself as a younger man!!!! lolololol.....

    Multiple Addictions?

I was 9days old on my first boat ride.My siblings and I grew up inhaling two stroke smoke Every Sunday until I was about 13 years old (summer)
My Dad bought me a Hodaka 90cc (Fuji engine) (on a Rupp frame)when I was about 10 years old. Then when I was about 15 years old Dad bought me a brand new Yamaha 125 MX.
My first boat was the 16ft Thomson with a 35 Evinrude that I grew up on. That lasted about one year, then a 14ft G-3 with a 70hp Johnson, then a (Brand new)16ft Baja with a 115 Evinrude.
A 15ft Baja with a 70hp Johnson that was quickly replaced by a 115 Tower of power Merc.
Then in 1987 we bought a brand new Hydrostream Valero YT (Tunnel hull) with a 175 Johnson.
The last speed boat we purchased was the 1989 Lavey Craft Sebring Tunnel Hull. When we first got it it had a worked 260 Merc Horn motor. I saw 94.7 GPS with that motor but I broke sooooo many parts I got Pissed and bought the 225H.O. Johnson we have now. I did get the fever and bought a Monty racing power head and turned that $3500 into scrap metal within 3 months. I just bolted the old 225H.O (240 @ prop shaft) back on and my obsession to go 100mph was pretty much over. I can still break 80mph BUT I have more fun on the Ski's!
My wife hooked me up with this SL750 about 11 years ago. We also purchased a small houseboat about 12years ago.
I rode the hell out of that 750 and then found a 1996 SL780 and a 95SLX about 5 years ago.
I Just bought the 2001 Virage and since I only have 3 ski's I really dont think I have a problem

A friend of mine has a 32 foot boat in the marina here on Lake Michigan. They then bought a pair of Polaris skis, a SLT 750 and a SLT 780. Took me out riding once and I was hooked. I think it was 2 years later my brother and I split for a pair, a 94 SL650 and a 95 SL750. I then bought a 99SLTH for my wife to ride, fully rebuilt it, but I rode that one around quite a bit as well. Then when I was looking for a single trailer for my 3 skis, I found one with a blown up SL 900 on it. I decided to rebuild that one. Thats a fast and fun little boat. But then I went out for a ride with Rizzo here from the site, and hopped on one of his Pro 1200s. HOLY s^&t!!!!!!! What a blast!!!!!! I found one on Craigslist, and a week after riding one for the first time, I owned one.

Then I decided I wanted to have another 3 seater. I found the 99 X45 I am riding now, did a full and extensive rebuild on that one, and now I have a beautiful ski that looks showroom new, in fact it probably looks better than it did brand new.

These things are so much fun, and compared to all of the other options out there, a lot cheaper to own and operate. And they still perform very well compared to a lot of their newer counterparts. The only newer skis that are faster are the supercharged 4 strokes. But those are big bucks, and so is the fuel bill to feed those beasts, as well as it being god awful expensive to repair or modify them.

As long as you can turn a wrench and read a manual, these Polaris watercraft are great. Finding someone to work on them for you is almost an impossible task. If you will be having others work on them for you, there are better choices out there. Its a cheap and fun way to get into this sport.

    I have never ridden a 1200cc Pro

I think I would have to have one also!
Crazy A The beating I gave myself is a big part of why I found the Virage. I figure I can extend my riding career with a smoother riding ski. When Im on the SLX I always tell myself I am going to take it easy on the rough water Sunday afternoons. After about 10 minutes I am balls to the wall and feel no pain when I'm out there.
Today I wrestled this little 250 over saplings and up and down hills. If its a two Stroke I love it.
O.K. Ill admit it, an 18 foot Hobie Cat in a stiff wind is a gas, even a Kayak on a Sunday morning after Coffee on the house boat is great.

Ive managed to stop all of the illegal addictions
