    2001 genesis has no spark

Recently got 2001 Genesis but has no spark, verified kill switch worked with voltmeter. After charging battery I have 11 volt while trying to start. I also checked the brown wire going to stator that provides trigger volt and had 9 volt leaving cdi box. The previous owner told me it wont start with seats off is there any truth to this.

It will start with the seat off. Did you try pressing the bilge button while trying to start the engine? That bypasses the voltage regulator module and helps rule that out. Next do the stator tests with an ohm meter. If that checks out, I bet its a CDI box that went bad.

No I havn't tried the bilge pump button while starting, and how do you execute a stator test

The drive shaft coupler behind the engine.

    Spark plugs out.

how does the coil pack and cdi box work together is the spark coming from the coil pack or the cdi box

Do have a look through my signature links. How the ignition system works is described in the Electrical sections and the red domestic engine sections.

Bypass the LR Start/Stop module for testing. These modules can fail and prevent engine start.

In the Genesis i think that LR module is located in the front electrical box. The carburetor Genesis has two electrical boxes.
