Hopefully i am wrong about this...

I heard through the grapevine that with the new motec updates with all the new features was to include external lamba logging ( lc-1 or mtxl) but that isnt the case. The update allows the use for an external meter but it will be locked. Its considered an ad on and can only be unlocked for a fee of around $450.00!!

Meaning that if i want to use the new updates with my innovate guage i will have to pay a fee of 450.00! I have not recieved my update yet but i hope i am wrong

i have only used pete as support once when i got my setup and he was extremely helpful. I understand paying for r&d of a product but 450.00 to give us a code to use what we have set up already? Motec costs alot and is well worth it but if this happens will there be more fees in the future? I believe that should have been stated when i purchased the product to be fair...

    Say it aint so motec!

    Hi
I have some replies next to some of your text.

At this point the free diagnostic logging channel list remains unchanged, this diag log list does not include anything that is not standard in the ski

The update allows the use for an external meter but it will be locked.
We recieved a request to allow the use of 3rd party lambda meters, we have allowed their use creating a new channel called Lambda External.

Its considered an ad on and can only be unlocked for a fee of around $450.00!!
The new channel is there but as it is not part of the diag log set then you cannot see it in the data unless you purchase the level 2 logging upgrade.
This upgrade opens up an enourmous amount of logging ability, closed loop knock, average engine load, boost control, launch and antilag.
If your ONLY going to use it to see your external lambda meter then it probably seems a bit tough, I would suggest that you will use it for significantly more than that but your just not aware of the benifits yet.

i am not sure that the 450.00 is correct, I recently had the price of the level 2 logging significantly reduced to help you guys through this period of uderstanding the value of it all. i will check that the USA has that update.

I appolagise for any miss-comunication that you may have recieved
I dont believe that we ever advertised this feature as it goes against what we encourage people to do, which is tune with accurate equipment.
As soon as we allow the use of other equipment to tune our equipment it becomes hard to determine issues relating to incorrect tuning results.
The problem with 3rd party lambda meters is that it is very difficult to tell if they are wrong, think about it, how would you know if there was a 5 - 10% error.

    Say it aint so motec!

    Summing up
The new upgrade software includes the following new features
Onboard individual cylinder closed loop knock control.
    Multi Map
    Boost Control
Launch Control, includes turbo antilag launch
    Anti lag race
Cost of changing ECU to another brand PWC (removed)
4 new Aux tables, one with comps on fuel and ignition (use for Nitrous etc)
Cruise control and no wake mode
Race time channel with fuel and ign comps
Anticavitation time channel with fuel and ignition comps
    Generic timers
    Closed loop fuel control
    Viewable Engine hours

    All this at no cost,
The knock control alone would have cost 2k on our earlier solutions, the antilag stuff another upgrade
Jetskis get it all for nothing
Seriously guys I couldnt have worked harder for this market to get anymore features into this new package.
The only way I could convince the decision makers to allow all this stuff to get done with no cost was to suggest that people would need to log these new features to use them and that there was an upgrde cost for that, but even then I got agreement to bring the price of that upgrade down.
I hope everyone would acknowledge that we produce really great stuff and are at the front of ECU development in the world today, we cant do that without making some money to pay for that development.

I get it that the logging comes with a lot more features than just reading 02'. If the price is cheaper than 450 could we please get a firm number so we know what we are all looking at. Thanks
