Start the ski up and pull off a oil line briefly. You will see the oil slowly coming out the end of the oil line.

Just don't leave the line off for long. If you can, reach down where the oil pump is and pull up on the lever. That will make it pump more oil.

    Byran,

When you mention that the oil will slowly come out of the end of the carb supply hose are we talking molasis slow or dripping slow?

    Thanks,

At idle RPM, the oil flow is VERY slow. Pulling the oil pump arm up increases the flow rate to 'slow'.

Increasing engine RPM raises the flow rate to 'some'.

Another test method is to pull off the hose from the oil pump. Introduce a small air bubble, then reconnect. Now you can watch the bubble move slowly through the clear oil line. The air bubble may move faster when traveling uphill, but when going horizontal it refects the actual oil flow.

Think of it this way. At low RPM the oil pump is moving oil at roughly 1/100th the rate the carbs are drawing fuel (100:1 ratio). How much fuel is the engine using at idle RPM?

That makes sense. The flow just seemed so slow that I didn't want to take a chance of operating at too low of oil supply. I mistakenly expected it to spurt oil on each pulse not just weep it from the supply tubes.
