best plate off the shelf for flat water speed is probably the r&d.the r&d or your stock plate modded by jim would offer even more speed.my r&d modded by jim was worth 2-3mph.

If I were to get a plate modified it would def. be the stock. Less bounce and faster. Otherwise I agree R&D plate the best.

Thanks you guys very much i really appreciate it, The modded r&d will be a couple tenths faster but if you want the best all around plate it is the modded stock one. Thank you, Jim

My SHO is bone stock with the exception of Jims modded OEM plate, i mean WITH ribbon, oem everything. Last summer i raced a SHO with free flow exhaust, riva air intake, ribbon delete, and stock unmodded plate, and spanked him.

    Hey Ross-
I think you should put a sticker on your SHO that says " with ribbon "

Jim's modded stocker is the best all-around plate I've tried. I use the modded stock plate if I'm gonna be in rougher conditions & prefer the modded R&D for twisty river riding. The R&D is much shorter & loosens up the SHO a little, which makes it more nimble & easy to throw around in tight twisties. The R&D is also a little faster but tends to bounce more as the fuel gets low.
