    Liquifire Snowmobile Project

I just picked up a 1980 John Deere snowmobile on CL for $100 , now I have a winter project when I cant be on the lake. It needs work but it does start but has poor compression. Since parts are hard to come by I need some help on a gas tank fix and thought you guys would come up with something. Here is a pic of the tank, at the bottom circled in red there is a area that is indented 1/4 and has a hole cut into the tank. In this hole was a rubber bung with a smaller hole which a fuel line passed thru entering the tank. The line sat on the tank bottom with a screen filter. Well this rubber bung is cracked and wont work. How can I get my gas line in this wide hole and use something to seal it in and hold it in place? The hole is close to a inch wide or a bit more.
