    Pump wedge

Hey guys, I've done some searching but still a little confused. How does a pump wedge work ? A friend of mine told me if I install a 2* pump wedge in my SHO I can pick up 1 mph. Can somebody explain to me why I would or would not need this, and exactly what a pump wedge is and does.

It changes the thrust angle, essentially getting the nose of the hull out of the water more. It puts less hull in the water at high speed, reducing friction and increasing speed. There is a trade off with a wedge though. It may hurt your rough water handling.

Would it be worth putting one on my ski ? To be honest I don't do any ocean riding or heavy rough water riding. I'm trying to maximize my speed while keeping my engine internals stock except for ribbon delete. Jim, in about 2 weeks my Ride Plate and impeller will be heading your way for machining and repitching. Will it be worth it to add a pump wedge also with my current mods and future Jim's mods ?

We all run wedges here with are SHO'S you will gain 1 mph. well worth it.
Thank you, Once i receive them i will take care of the plate and impeller. And if you want to save on shipping you can call Leo on the wedge and i can ship it with the impeller and plate that way you save a few bucks on shipping. Thank you, Jim

every ski is different but i got more like .5 mile with mine and ski got real sensitive to fuel load.its still a good mod for the money and the quality of leos wedge is second to none.with stage 1 jims plate and a wedge youll be doing 71ish.currently my best stage 1 speed is 73.4 heatsoaked on my sho.these skis can go plenty fast once you know what your doing stick with guys like jim and leo they are honest and know there stuff.

Thanks Jim & Leo, my goal is trying to get to 73-75 mph with nothing but bolt on mods and stock supercharger & engine internals....then I might think about doing a R2 ECU & ET Low Boost Wheel with Upgraded Intercooler....then I'd need another impeller...it's a never ending process right...lol
