    Boost guage reading

Is the ski to be under a load before the guage will read any pressure? I get 0 on the trailer & a few days ago I was only seeing 3lbs on the lake. It has to be wrong 'cause I was spinning the 15/20 73.6 at 8180rpm. I hooked up some air to the sending unit & it shows psi accuratly..Hmm, there was no water on the wiring anywhere either. Well, this morning I popped off the IC block off & ran a bead of "the right stuff" on the lip & clamped her back on & rigged a housing to cover the wiring. I was gonna use clear hose but I ran out.

Mine is 0 at idle but goes up with rpm's on the trailer. In the water on holeshot it passes 14psi{due to prop spin} then planes bites hard drops to 11.5 then builds quickly to 13.5-14... I have a non electronic gauge strickly air pressue on the cold side of the IC.

Hmm, I get no readings at all on the trailer no matter what the revs are.

you will not see boost levels while there is no load on the engine. You won`t see much boost while cruising unless under load and at WOT.
to see boost you have to have the airflow going, sc working...
at best the gauge will read near zero on the trailer when on the throttle...anything more your holding the throttle open to long without load...
I`m pretty sure my cruise boost level is around 3-4psi depending on what speed. I haven`t ridin is a very long time to remember.

full throttle distances show the max boost...
    hope this was helpfull...PR...

if your using a BOV, the pressure will bleed off with vacuum, and you wouldn`t see boost until you overcame the BOV setting...

Thanx PR, I don't get a reading at all while cruising either. It's WOT Ill see 3psi.
I'll see tomorrow morning if I get a better reading. I cleaned everything up & sealed real good. Repitched my swirl from 13.5/19 back to a 13/18.5 too.

    No BOV here....yet

3 psi is low... at 8100 you should be seeing 7-8 easy...PR...

Check your IC plumbing for boost leaks.

If I had a boost leak would I still get 73.6 mph @ 8180 rpm on a 15/20 on a full tank at only 3 pounds?

I think it's the sender or I had a bad connection. I had a butt load of dielectric compound all over the connections & maybe that was interfering? I cleaned all that stuff off & hooked it up dry with the cover.

could be rabbit? most of the set-up are in ohms, resistor, acting like potentiameter, if the connections aren`t good/clean it`s possible that your getting more resistance...

if you still have low readings, try a mechanical gauge...PR...
