Cylinder Heads damaged?
Any Idea what caused this damage to my cylinder? the piston looks the same. my only theory is Something broke off and was repeatedly was pressed against the two as the was ran? It is from a 97 Polaris SLT700. the top of the cone looks relatively ok. Any suggestions are appreciated. I don't want to rebuild it and find the same issue. I was told timing.... It could be, but I want to explore other opinions. should I try to smooth out the surface or shop for replacements? Cylinder walls look ok no major scratches.

Mine as well keep both my questions in the same thread,
The side of the casting is chipped. it almost looks like a factory defect the way its chipped and was used anyways or it was resleeved incorrectly. Should I just go with this. maybe put an epoxy over it and just use it or should I be shopping for one of these as well?
Ski has been a nightmare. but its been fun to rebuild and learning allot.
sorry these are in the wrong topics if some one can move or delete them I repost in the proper place.
