95 SLX, save it or scrap it? That is the question...

Well I sold my buddy this trailer like three years ago for $200. I got it back for free along with this 95 SLX. We already changed this same pto piston and he got two good seasons out of it and it's toast again. Already did all new fuel lines and a new fuel pump and filter. The carbs were spotless but that was two years ago. I'll be spliting the cases to check the crank. I'll have to figure what to do from there. Might just be spare parts unless I can save her for cheap.

Nice to see you back Nut.

Check that crank for sure, maybe that will help decide if it's worth it to you. If you hadn't pulled the cyl studs, I'd say put the heads back on and do a leak down test. Prob that crank seal gone bad.

If the crank is good, then you're looking at a piston kit $80, gasket set $70, crank seals $27 for WSM teflon or around $70-80 for OEM seals, cyl bore $60, and 1 good/used 780 head $30. $270 to 300ish 2 get it back together. Good luck with what you find.

Welcome back Nut. If you decide to keep it and are interested, send me any parts that are metal and would fit inside, say a five gallon bucket, and I will strip and bead blast them for free. (pump venturi, flame arrestors, heads.......etc)

I'm seeing two heads that are pitted from shrapnel and two piston kits in there - Looks like the CEN is starting to develop a hole in it...... If you decide to scrap, I might be interested in some of the spares if you're willing to part.....

Interesting to see that crater in the middle of the CEN with nice finger nail wash pattern. Good eye.

OK, so add another $145 to the total Nut #1

Why'd you include me in that? I told him how cheap it would be to fix it, IF the crank was good.
