GoPro 3M Sticky - gelcoat/paint issues on SeaDoo?

    Hey guys!!

I have a GoPro hero 2 and I was thinking of installing the adhesive sticky pads on my SeaDoo for quicker connect/disconnect.

I have used the suction cup without issues, but would like a more semi-permanent when heading out for a ride.

What are your experience with the 3M adhesives that come with the GoPro? Any issues with killing the SeaDoo gelcoat/paint?

    Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I don't think you will have issues. I installed one on a hood I just painted 2 months before I installed the mount and it had held up perfectly. THat includes submarining and crashing the ski and camera through some good sizes waves.

I have mine on top of the hood, up about as high as I can get it, which on my particualar craft, isn't that high. I am thinking of putting a mount on the rear somewhere too to capture some video looking back.

You guys trust the sticky mounts? I would like to put one on my craft instead of using the suction cup. You guys use a lanyard too?

I have put the stick on one through hell basically. I ride Lake Michigan almost all of the time. Bouncing off big waves, crashing through waves, etc. I personally would never trust the suction cup. I also have the floaty on mine in case it should ever come off.

I put mine just in front of the hood latch on my PX..Your mirror/guage bezel is the same as mine so you can mount it there...No problems...

But when I get my Hero 3, I will be getting a billet mount....

Appreciate the suggestions and notes guys!

Tiny - the hero 3 looks awesome. I use my hero 2 mostly for photos, so not much of a difference jumping to hero3 for me. If u part with your hero 2 feel free to pm me as a potential buyer.

    Cheers.

I have thought about it but then might keep it and use it as a rear facing camera and have 2 of them....But if I sell, I will let you know.

Hello, I monted the sticky bracket to my upper hull body on my Yamaha.... I know its different than Sea Doo, but for safety /security I drilled a very small pilot hole & put in a small screw .... that if & when removed would bearly be noticed
