Jet pump bolt hole stripped. Ideas?

I did some searching but wasn't able to find anyone who encountered the same issue. I was having issues with my 11' RXT-X aS and ended up pulling the pump. When I went to pull the pump I realized one of the bolts was missing in action. After closer inspection I realized the top half of the threads in the ride plate(?) were gone. I thought there was enough threads left that I wouldnt have any issues but after trying to install a new bolt I realized the threads were completely gone.

Does anyone have a good idea on how to repair the ride plate bolt hole? 3 of the 4 holes are fine and have no issues installing the bolts but the one is toast. I was assuming I could go ahead and tap it for the next size up but have not tried it yet. Wanted to get some other opinions before I started tapping.

helicoils have never let me down, but I have not seen your direct application. Tapping to the next size is almost never a good idea.

Well here is a picture of the bolt hole that is causing issues:

In not sure what type of metal the ride plate is. I've never used a helicoil but it looks like it could work. Where can I find them at?

Any good hardware store, ebay, your local machine shop.

You will want to practice on a couple for a proper install and tab break off technique. A slight chamfer to the hole helps align the coil upon install. If the hole is not very deep, you can cut a coil off prior to install.

+1 on the heli coil fix for now. Make sure you put loctite on the bolts during installation and let it sit for a day before hitting the water.

Thanks guys. Found the helicoil at OReillys so I'm headed there to pick it up. I got locktite handy to install these bolts. Hopefully the helicoil install goes smoothly.

make sure you have the correct drill bit if not included in the kit.

Use the size the helicoil required and everything worked out well! Had never used one of those before, but I am extremely surprised how well it worked. Here is a picture of the little sucker installed:

Used red locktite on the bolts during reinstalling the pump. Cant wait to try it out next weekend! Thanks for all your help everyone!
