Yamaha dealer any way i am going to do it my self and save so cash..if i go synthetic will it hurt the motor because you can only get 3 .5 qt or so.....the yamaha watercraft 4 w big bucks a qt.or does it real makes a different ??? Or just go with a good 10 w 40 oil such as mobil.. Going in to 2011 vxr with ribbon delete power air filter..and a sho 2011 as well, your thoughts thanks......

I think most guys will tell you not to run synthetic in the super charged engines because of the sprag clutch. Amsoil is what I ran in my VXS and FZS. Any hi quality oil is fine.

Friction modifiers are bad for the clutch.....it will cause it to slip........car oil has it, i don't recommend it.

I was thinking of switching to the Amsoil at the start of the season but the question that has not been answered yet is going from Yamalube which is currently in the VXR and best we can get out is say 3.5 quarts or so is it okay to have some Yamalube and AMSOIL 10-40 Synthetic Marine Oil in there?
