    2012 rxp-x first mods questions..

    hey guys,
    new to posting on the forum, definatly not new to reading up info on the forum though! couple quick questions... i have a 2012 rxp-x 260 currently i have a riva intake kit on it and im looking at getting the vtech tune and getting the rev limit set at 8400 rpms no more. now ive been reading that you should go with the solas srz-cd-15/20r. compared to the stock impeller how does it affect the performance of the machine? low end? top end? let me know what you guys are thinking

    With the 15/20r and the tune from Vtech, you will feel a ton more pull through the whole RPM range. The tune makes the biggest difference.

    I would be very reluctant to increase the HP in any way until you get larger injectors and have a way to tune the EFI to any new HP level. These motors are blown and as such make power fast as you increase RPM and boost. Apparently they need valve spring attention as the RPMs come up fairly early.

    The stock ECU starts pulling back the throttles when you get near the 68 MPH wall. You will need to be deal with this real early in the tuning process.

    whittlebeast, all of those issues you brought up are addressed in the links above. Many of us have ran the same setups with our 260px's and have had great success so far.

    Bone stock everything including stock air box and stock prop with stock pitch. All i did was the VTech 8350 Aggressive tune and that landed me hard on the 8350rpm limiter at @73.1mph.

    Added the SuperTech Springs and retainers then reflashed to the 8500rpm Aggressive tune and that landed me at 8460rpm @ 73.7mph

    Added a 15/20r SRZ prop pitched to 13/18 and that landed me at 8160rpm @ 73.1mph.

    Added a 4" custom air intake and that brought RPM back up to 8340rpm at 74.9mph.

    I feel to go any faster then this (by way of more HP) i'll need to upgrade the fuel system and supercharger. Other then that I'm looking to try the Jim's Ride plate mod to get me up to 76mph hopefully.

    So if I was to go with the following monds I would be pretty sastisfied with overall performance... Riva power plenum intake kit , riva catch can, riva free flow exhaust, solas srz-cd-15/20r (untouched) and vtech 8350 aggresive tune

    If this exact same thing was to be done on a 2013 RXT-X aS 260 would it result in similar top speed of 73.1 mph?
