Polaris Matrix replica with 4-Tec engine
Ive got to the point where i will start my own build thread
this conversion will be very similar to the other msx conversion, as they have paved the way for me to do this.
the aim is to create exactly the look of the prototype 2005 polaris Matrix, with a 4-tec engine.
my parts donor: (i've just rebuilt motor)
so far, ive Got the Matrix graphic made, and made my custom seadoo jetmpump mount/shoe:
im going to need a 2" extended shaft i think....
as for the hull, i "should" get a Msx 110 on monday...

ive got the longer RXP shaft. my pump housing is now extended by about 72mm. nearly 3". using Kosh measurements we think the 4tec can move rearwards about 2".
i can easily get a drive shaft made though. its just going to cost.
it did cross my mind to use a skat trak impeller with inducer impeller, as i now have the space for it. this way i could possible use oem drive shaft, but then i would have no idea what prop pitch i need, and could be an expensive trial and error.
the primary idea of extending the pump is to try to keep the handling/steering as the OEM MSX. as i understand it from Kosh, the handling is different with the shorted pump set up. Kosh is a good for reference as he has a 2 msx's and both pumps.
your steering should feel good, as you have polaris pump.
what i do plan to do, is keep the built in angle on the seadoo pump mount. (i took the angle out of one of the housings) this should help me with the ride plate clearances im going to be faced with...
i will have to mod the thru hull bearing area to take the angle on the thru hull bearing.
i hope the engine will be ok sitting lower in the hull...

The inducer prop is not splined only the main so driveshaft length will not change. Ted made some longer drivshafts for the doo extension kits.

i know, i remeber the thread. i asked jerry, and the two he had have now gone.
ill look into getting one made. i may also make a different thru hull bearing set up. so ill get shaft to suit this.

Keep us posted as I am adding the doo pump soon the Polaris shafts keep snapping @ the O-ring grove.

i will. in the mean time, if you can work out what length shaft you need (spline to spline (not buffer) ) then i can get quoted for that.
i think i will go to "jetshed" UK to get the shaft done. they built "phil popes" custom racing GPR 1400cc, and have been the hub of the UK racing scene.
as you know the extended shafts can snap just behind the front splines on big HP set ups. so need to get experience shaft manufactuers todo the job.

Can't go wrong with Jetshed. Alan made James a coupler type driveshaft for his s3 hull as he kept snapping the stock ones.
