Just bought SL1050 carbs with accelerator pump for the 97 1050' changes needed??

I currently have a 97 Sl1050 that has the 3 carbs but no accelerator pump, so I just got a great deal ($80!!) on a slightly used set off eBay that came from another sl1050 that has the accelerator pump on it. The seller claimed they were off a 97, but I didn't think that any 97's came with the accelerator, either way, am I safe in assuming that I can just hook them up and go, obviously after checking the internals though. Or do I need to change anything with the jetting or adjust it in any other way?

You need to check what jets are actually in those carbs you are buying. Do not assume they were stock, or that the seller info is 100% accurate.

A good starting point would be the 1997 1050 jetting specs.

well dang, just looked on the technical information stickie thread and it looks like your correct, mine are 40's but these new ones are 38's, will the 38's with the accelerator pump be better to use than the 40's without the pump? Or is the difference between the 38's and the 40's unnoticeable?

Any idea where I can find the stock jetting for both the 97 SL1050 & SLTX1050?

So could I in theory just take all of the jets, springs, etc. out of my 40's and put them into the 38's? Or should I just put the 38's on and see how it runs? What would you do in the scenario?

I guess what I'm asking, since they came off a 1050, and they're going onto another 1050, can't I just use the 38's and be ok?
