    MSX 140 spare parts.

Im picking up my MSX 140 this Sunday. Im wondering what are some good things to keep as spare parts for this machine. I already plan to purchase 2 TPS kits. Is it worthwhile to have a spare CPS as well? Are any of the other sensors known to be problem causers? I want to keep this thing reliable and quickly repairable, I don't want to have any down time because I am searching for parts. I have enough parts here now to fix any issue that could arise with my other machines, short of engine internal moving parts. Would it be a wise thing to do to just remove the fuel pressure regualtor from the tank and go with the inline one?

I would. Also, these guys know more about the MSX's than me so maybe they can chime in about the drive shaft/thru-hull/bearing stuff. Isn't there an issue sometimes? I'm just thinking "quick repair" like you said in case it does happen...

I will probably source some bearings/seals for that locally through the bearing supply house here. I think I have enough parts to rebuild 3 or 4 jet pumps already, and probably 3 through hull bearings on hand now.

I know they do. I will have to source those parts locally to add to my collection.

Def put the inline regulator but you can't double them up so make sure you disconnect the one in the tank. replace the through hull bearing and seals now before the drive shaft siezes in there. (adding a grease fitting isn't a bad idea). unscrew the barb fitting at the top of the exhause pipe and make sure it's clean inside. It would be a good idea to take the cooling cover off the front mag cover because salt builds up in there and clogs the water supply elbow which also feeds the emm. overheating the emm even once will most likely cause it to burn up. TPS is good to have. and check the spring clamps on the oil pump because they like to rot off. Also.... this might just be a preference but on 03 models, a part falls off the reverse mechanism which prevents it from staying in reverse meaning you'll have to hold the lever.

If you're in fresh water then just worry about the regulator ha ha ha

what year MSX 140 do you have?

think thats are hard to get hold of (new) are the actual thru bearing carrier. and rear grab handle.

Have you ridden a MSX before? i picked up a 2004 msx hull yesterday for my 4tec project.
