    99 750sxi pro

    Hey guys just exploring the options for my sxi pro. It lacks a bit of power through the whole rev range compared to my brothers new 2013 sj. Mine has been fully rebuilt 20 hours ago but has always been a little average. Toying with the idea of buying a complete built performance engine or adding bolt ons to mine to make some power. Just your thoughts on what to do and what mods would be the best for my engine. It is totally stock at the moment.

    Thanks Jason

    Get an aftermarket exhaust and increase the compression.

    +1 - beyond that, my best improvements came from an ignition advance (6º I believe), carb rejet /pop-off pressure drop that you should do after the pipe anyway, lightweight flywheel and rec porting. A Skat-Trak 13/18 swirl impeller was also an improvement. I went with a total-loss advent ignition and TBM TL flywheel and will never go back to a charging system, but I know TL isn't for everyone.

    Bets of luck - it's a great ski!

    An exhaust is the first and best single thing you could do for more power. Don't waste on anything but a Factory Pipe (good deals come up every now and then). Do a search on X-H2O, I guarantee you'll have all your questions answered Really big stand-up community there.

    Depending on your budget;

    Exh pipe ( factory pipe brand, wet pipe)
    cut head to increase compression
    advance timing
    aftermarket flame arrestors, rejet carbs, and install primer kit
    Scat trac C-75 Big hub 9-17 impeller
    bore exit nozzle to 80mm, or switch to an earlier 750sx 80mm nozzle
    after market deep scoop grate

    may want to switch to Light tension, carbon tech reeds.
    also a light weight flywheel makes a HUGE difference.

    all above mods will make a nice gain. "if" you cannot afford a pipe, and or flyweel, all other mods will still make a noticable gain. I can help with all, but the pipe, if you need. I can mill your head here, and supply all needed gaskets, etc.
