    Trim on MSX

Hs anyone ever installed a trim system on their MSX? Im thinking of going with the setup from a Yamaha with the twist grip on the left side of the bars. I really like what trim added to my SLT hulls. Im just wondering what others may or may have not experienced.

Yes and it is worth the effort to fit it up.
I have a Seadoo pump on my MSX so not much help in suggestions to get yours set up other than say you will like it.
The Yamaha with the twist grip style would be the choice of adjustment IMO.

I would be using the Polaris pump. I think the hardest thing for me to do would be to get the correct throw to operate the Polaris nozzle. I was going to try a cable from a GPR and then some sort of linkage to operate the twist grip and make it all work properly. My other thought was a remote mount of a Polaris trim motor to operate the GPR cable. Either way, there is no way to mount a Polaris trim motor in the pump tunnel.

Maybe use a reverse cable to get the linkage inside the hull then use a trim motor? I would say just use the whole reverse motor assembly, but you would have way too much throw and maybe not enough holding power.

The genesis uses a remote mount reverse motor which may give you some ideas.

Which Polaris models came with both electric trim and reverse, stock?

None. It appears there is enough room between the reverse bucket and steering nozzle to slip a trim nozzle in though. With the older style reverse bucket, you just removed the plastic spacers between the bucket and nozzle, and replace the spacers with the trim nozzle. There appears to be the same space available with the newer style reverse nozzle. I like the GPR trim cable because its threaded on both ends, I suppose I could even use a steering cable from a SL or something like that as well. Seems to have the same configuration. I really like the idea of the mechanical twist grip though. Makes the system very simple, and eliminates the need for another electronic or mechanical indicator.

If you go with the GPR just get the whole set-up with bellcrank and cables done.

I would trade trim for reverse any day. Does anyone actually use reverse? I used it once on my MSX I don't see what the big deal is really.

Its very useful around docks and in marinas. I would need to keep reverse on a hull this big.
