Hitting the Rev Limiter and Timing

I was testing my ski with the Rude Charger again.
Previosly I managed 81mph with hesitation on Top . I was hitting 8550rpm with 1mm added pitch to the 15/19r Riva. Jerry told me rev limiter was the cause of the hesitation. Can you hit the rev limiter without the tach display reading 8600rpm (Maybe is too fast to read the tach)

Now, I installed the Riva Pipes and thermostat, A little colder than the previos test day, bum, 8600rpm with the same hesitation.
I am taking the prop to Brian to add maybe .5mm of pitch to bring it to 8500 with flashes of 8550 and maybe 82+ runs.

Will timing get pulled when you hit the rev limiter and therefore going slower?
    Thanks
    Hector

That hesitation or jerking feeling is what you feel when you hit the limiter. If you are seeing a solid 8550 you are already on the limiter.

You are making big big power now Hector! Get some more pitch added to that monster to where you see a solid 8500 with an occasional flash of 8550 and you will see 82+ mph

    Hello Hector,

The "problem' that you are having is a good one to have!! TOO much POWER!!

Drop off your prop tomorow at my shop and I will have it ready for you to pick up the following day.
