    Psycho Starters

Are these starters comparable to OEM or any better than an aftermarket?

I sell them. I have only had 1 in a 4tec fail. It is a cheap option if you need a starter. I seriously doubt that they are new, I think they are rebuilt.

I've been buying mine from Rare electrical and have had zero problems. Well, except for one which was totally submersed inside the hull all winter.......ya, it was no good.

They are about twice as high as other aftermarket, so I was hoping they were not a remanufactured starter. Not really sure about the aftermarket as well. They all say new starter. I would think that means all components are new, not just the brushes and bearings. That would mean they are rebuilt or remanufactured in my opionion.

Ebay is the basis I used. $109. But aftermarket EMS $52.
Although I've since found Psykho for $59 plus shipping. But if they arn't any better, I am not throwing money away.
    Especially if they are remanufactured.

Although I believe the OEM starters are better, if you buy used you have no idea the condition unless you pull it apart. At least with aftermarket new, you know all components are new. But you have to question the quality. I guess all after market starters are the same imports just with different names, Psykho, high torque, aqua marine etc..... Guess I just pick one with a colorful sticker and roll the dice.
