For all you Kawi guys with Ficht injected motors

I know there are a bunch of Kawasaki DI skis out there that use the Ficht fuel injection. I noticed there is not much info about them in this section. For those who are unaware, The Polaris Di motors also used the Ficht system and a lot of the same things apply. There is tons of info in the Polaris tech tips and info section on diagnosing and fixing these machines.

Here is a link to the tech tips section

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=101

And here is a link to all kinds of info on the Ficht direct injection systems used in the Polaris. Im sure most of this also applies to Kawasaki.

If you are having trouble diagnosing a Ficht machine, and aren't finding the info here, jump over to the Polaris forum and ask away. Member K447 knows about all you could ever want to know about these systems. We have quite a few members running skis with this system.

Yes, they are very similar and some components are exactly the same since they both borrowed the technology from (now gone) OMC which got bought off by BRP.
One of the main differences between Polaris and Kawi is that P uses 14-amp and K uses 17-amp injector drivers (x3) inside the EMM.
I wonder if the EMM diagnostic software/cable are the same between the two.

The Evinrude ETec motors are still Ficht systems I believe, they are just newer and better systems than they were 10 years ago.

While it's true the E-TEC engines are electronically controlled direct injected two-stroke motors, they say they are not Ficht or for that matter even Ficht variations. Instead, E-TEC's method of direct injection is particularly uncomplicated and boasts fewer and smaller components. It is in a word, elegant. For example, the fuel injectors are founded upon the common Lorentz coil, the permanent magnet and coil winding that is the heart and soul of a loudspeaker. The benefit is greater amount of fuel being that can be injected with more precise timing which results in quicker acceleration and higher rpm operation.
