Cool 3 cylinder Kawasaki Jet Ski PJS 795cc Prototype Engine, anyone have details?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Jet...item3380218dfb

I was browsing ebay for some parts and I stumbled across this, does anyone have any information on it? looks like a cool piece of hardware.

That is one weird engine for sure, no reeds style, and looking at the pic of the intake ports, the piston on the right looks different than the other two. Odd animal for sure.

There's a dude on PWCtoday that had a bitchin thread about the history of PJS, I been trying to find it to link too... GREAT old school reading. They were kinda modeled off Kawasaki SS hulls from what I remember. I pm'd the guy, hopefully he will respond... or I find it.

BOOM!!! I win! I found it!

Man, I remember being 14 and drooling...

Back before everyone went carbon fiber and Titantium...

The holes in the piston skirts allow more fuel/air mixture to enter the crankcase when the piston is near the top. I've heard that this results in a considerable increase in performance--IF you can keep the pistons together.

If you look at the enlarged picture, you'll see that the middle piston also has the holes, the piston is higher in the stroke which hides them. The piston on the left is near the top and the holes are not visible.

Very interesting, even though I'm a massive 4 stroke guy I love learning about new stuff.
