    ignition question

Do you guys fit battery isolators as there is no ign switch on my slx 780 or does the dead man totaly kill everything or just the coils ? Just wondering about the battery going flat if not used on a regular basis.

The Polaris electrical system is designed to not run the battery down while sitting. The clock in the MFD display uses very little power, and the rest of the MFD 'goes to sleep' after five minutes of no activity.

The main source of battery problems on watercraft is poor quality batteries, and the use of traditional old-school liquid lead-acid batteries. A good quality sealed AGM battery will last for years, and will hold its charge for an entire storage season.

The LR module is the primary electronic component that can cause parasitic battery drain, if the module is failing.

If the MFD is broken, has water inside, or appears to be 'dead', it can sometimes still draw power. Disconnect an MFD which is not working properly.

mfd is not working anyway, everytime its connected it blowns the 1/4 fuse. Is the temp sensor variable, if not I figured i would just wire up the temp sensor to an led and set it in the rubber next to the mfd. Still need to check temp sensor operates correctly, do you know what temp it switches at ?

Temp sensor in all carbureted Polaris watercraft is just a switch. Switch closes when temp gets above HOT threshold.

At the moment I am too lazy to go look up the trigger temperature
Fuzzy memory says 160 or 180 F. Someone can check the manual...

Came across this during a search on another topic - Memory was fuzzy because it depends on the model. Some are 160, some 180..... The Fuji 780s seem to be the oddball that trigger at 180, while everything else 92-98 seems to trigger at 160..... Interesting.....
