    Factory Pipes question

Got my new warranty pto chamber yesterday.

    Got a question

The new pipe has a nice powder coat finish

The mag and center pipe are stripped back to aluminum,
as you can see in my vid clip of pressure testing triples.

So should I strip the new pipe to match?

Or get the 2 older pipes powder coated to match.

Local powder coat shop will powder coat a pipe for $50 each. They say I should get the powder coat sealer on first for $40 more since it is a Marine application.
Does anyone know if the original FPP powder coat has the first coat of 'special sealer' or just single coat of powder?

    So I need some opinions

Its nothing critical, but do want it to look good.

    What looks better
    Powder coat fpp finish or
    Stripped back to bare aluminum?
    Or different powder coat color?

I wish mine were powder coated.

They look much nicer that way.

mtrager, thanks for the reply .
Yup, I agree and like the powder coat also.

If I am getting 2 done wouldn't be much more to get all 3 done and change colors.
What color pipes would look good with an oem 02 blue gpr ?
Or does the fpp stock speckled gray black the best?

Im in the same boat as you. My front pipes are aluminum and my PTO has the powder coat finish. I am leaving mine as they are for now.

On the Ultra/STXR pipes the coating was notorious for flaking off and getting scratched really easy. After a while they started looking bad. Not sure if the GPR pipes will do the same????

I would like to have my stock head look just like that pipe.

I wonder if they could match the pipe you have pictured or would it be off ?

My only experience with powder coating was having the wheels done on a muesum quality BMW R100rs.

They did not turn out so well.

I wonder what factory would charge. I know painting would be less exspensive. But not the same.
