Need to replace pump and carrier bearing. Alignment Ideas?

    Hi,

I need to replace the pump, carrier bearing and driveshaft on my 2008 F15x. This is a lot of dollars in parts and I want to make sure I get it right. I am concerned about proper alignment of the carrier bearing so I don't have a vibration or trash the new bearings. I called local honda dealer and they do not have the engine alignment tool to complete this work. Is it possible to align with feeler gauges?

    Thanks,
    Neal

Yes feeler gauges and a 6" machinist rule used as a straightedge.
