    Has anyone cut an exhaust manifold in half?

    I was wondering if anyone has ever cut an exhaust manifold in half to see exactly where the water jacket is?
    My last one sprung a leak when I ran the tap back down the hole after I welded it,
    I just picked up a used one from a member and I was noticing that after taking the top water fitting elbow off that the water jacket is really close to the center casting,

    I can tell you I drilled two 2005s that were in a vise/drill press so it was the exact same spot. One hit WJ and the other didn't Gotta love cast! I heard 2008+ 293 are good

    I have drilled several 05 and 06 that worked fine, I have one that sprung a leak after welding, I was going to cut it in half with the band saw at work to see inside the castings,
    if someone had already cut one down the middle to see there would be no need to cut this one,
    I will cut this bad one Monday in half at work and post pictures, I am kind of curious to see were the casting walls are, just to kind of give a guideline

    bigBoost thanks for the pics, can you shoot a picture of where we drill for the AFR bung? I want to see how far the water jacket is recessed under the hose barb fitting?
