    Breaking in new engine

    Hey guys,
So I finally got my 300x back today with a new engine. So I took it out just then and rode very easily for the first 20 minutes then I opened it up a tiny bit more to the point when the supercharger would slightly kick in. But now the problem is as soon as the supercharger kicks in maybe from 1 to 5 psi the ski would want to cut out and at one point it did cut out completely. So this kept happening and I've die wide to take it back to the dealer on Monday to see what the hell is going on. So guys could you please help me out with what you think could be the problem. And also for about a minute during the ride it started to vibrate a lot and wouldn't go over 10kmph but then this cleared up and we were on our way again. But the main problem is the ski wanting to cut out when the supercharger wants to kick in.

    Thanks
    Chad

Change your spark plugs and check plug wires
    Check your exh filter.
    Check your sc belt
    Check all hoses are tight.

The minute of slow/rough/vibration then clearing sounds like a chunk of wood, seaweed or other crap stuck in the pump that eventually cleared out

Was it a new motor or rebuild?

Chad, It's probably best to talk to the Dealer that fixed it all up for you. It could be as simple as water in a plug that didn't clip together properly or even just a plug not making contact correctly. When everything is pulled a part, like in your case, sometimes these things happen.

Good luck and let us know what it was.

    Cheers, Mal.

PS: Don't worry about Fokie, he is doing mods on his new ski to keep up.... seems to me he bought the wrong one!

Well ski went back to Craig today and he will sort it out I hope. And Craig said it was basically a completely new engine block besides the supercharger and other small parts here and there. But he did put it together.
