    it was in good condition and for 300 I couldn't go wrong now that I am looking into it people are saying that the cane has a different cdi and stator than the regular 700 electronics that you find in sl's.

    Yes, it has a domestic engine. Buy the ignition upgrade kit for a 700 and it will give you everything you need to update the electronics. Before investing in that, though, I would put it through the normal checks for compression etc...

    The hurricane CDI has a couple extra degrees of timing in the low-end but is otherwise the same. Not sure why the stator would be any different though.

    I'd open up the e-box and start running the stator checks to verify that's where your issue is. The hurricane doesn't seem to kill stators like the SL's, SLT's and SLTH's do. I'm not sure if you just don't hear about it as much or if there's something different about the 'cane that would cause them to fail less.

    EDIT: Also, definitely verify that compression is good before you start sinking too much money into it. Hopefully it's something simple and you can get it back up and running fairly cheap!

    compression is great got 130 out of both cylinders and I have the extra stator now I don't know where to get the cdi I guess the stator was burning up all of the cdi it had in it before
