Looking at an '03 Vans Triple Crown
I'm ready for something a little bigger then my old Waverunner 500 this season, and was initially looking at early '00s two strokes. At the very top of my budget, however, an '03 GTX Vans appeared on craigslist.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this model. From what I can tell, it's basically a non-supercharged GTX with a pole at the back. I'm wondering if these models are rare, and anything more then a standard GTX with some stickers.
I'm also wondering how reliable the 155 4-Tec is in this model. Where it isn't supercharged, I'm assuming I can get a few hundred hours trouble free, right? (This one currently has 67 hours on it). Are there any common preventative mods that should be performed?
Finally, I'm wondering what a fair price would be. The seller is asking $4k with a trailer, and I really don't have much to compare it too around here. The KBB is $4200, and the Nada is $2900 (not that that really means a whole lot). The hull seems to be in decent shape, so assuming the impeller isn't too chewed up how much should I be offering the seller?
