Fuel Options for the 300x
So I just found out that a local fuel distributor is offering 100 octance unleaded. Here is the question...can or should I use this in the 300 this summer?
Any insight would be apprciated.

Octane is the fuels rating to resist detonation. In racing, you're supposed to use the lowest octane the motor can burn without detonation. It won't hurt to run 100, but it won't help either. You may lose a few horsepower too. Just run 91 or 93 and call it good.

I put vp street blaze 100 in mine when I race it. Everyone can get as technical as they want with everything..... It's never had a problem, quite a few cc races, WF's racing 2 class's a day and an enduro.

As far as I know the only way to get pump gas @ 100% octane is with ethanol. Not the best way to go. If you want 100% you can go to local airportand by Avgas 100 LL. IMO, the best thing would be 91 or 93 octane with NO ethanol.
