Plastic rivet vs stainless..
The little "wings" on my side splash guards are nearly falling off.. I looked up the part number and they are stainless rivets.. I have a rivet gun that I use for the wheel wells of my truck which uses plastic rivets... Is it really that big of a deal to use a plastic rivet ??

The rivet will hold it in place, assuming it has a steel core as most do...
they break off because of vibration, and they end up moving say 1 mm . then 2, and it stretches out until they break.
All rivets break....
So just check it periodically, say ever 2-3 hours. if it gets lose, change it out...
otherwise there should be no issue...
(dont tell anyone, but this weight reduction will get you 0.00000001mph faster )
