GPS mounting solution for 2012/2013 RXT 260?
Looking for some wisdom on mounting a GPS on the newer RXTs. I Just got a new 2013 RXT 260. Previously had a 2006 RXT that I used a suction cup RAM mount for using my Garmin 78sc. I'd like something more permanent on the new one but I'm coming up empty because there aren't any convenient mounting points on the RXT 260 (that I know of).
I thought I had it figured out with a pic I found on the internets ...
But it turns out that's not going to work because of the RXT's adjustable steering column.
Anybody have a good idea on how to make this work? I'd like to avoid drilling or permanent glue but I'll resort to that if I have to ...

Does the 260 not have GPS speed stock?

I don't have any pix, but I've seen the some RAM mounts, the part that the 78 is seated in, bolted into the glove box lid. Personally, it's safer having it in your field of view up on the handle bar somewhere, but the glove box lid is an option. I know that means screws into the lid, but it can be replaced cheaply enough down the road if you ultimately don't like it.

Not the best picture of the mount itself but, I cut 1/2" of the inner left rubber grip, and bolted the ball mount to the handle bar.
I have the ball facing down. The GPS rotates with the handle bars, stays above the glove box, and is very adjustable but stays in place. I move the Ram Mount so that my left hand clears it and does not interfere with the Start Switch.
After riding I simply un-clamp the Ram Mount with the GPS still in the holder and put it away.
I also have a 2005 GTX with the Garmin GPS glove box lid, so I can move it to either ski with ease.
I will get some close up shots of my setup and post those.

Thanks all for the input. I'm liking the idea of the handlebar mount, I'll post back up when I get it done in a couple weeks ...

I forgot to mention that for the parts pictured in the first post in this thread are in case anyone looking at this might be able to use that setup.
