    RXT Intake grate repair

Can anyone remember where to find the pictures that were posted quite some time ago showing a repair on an RXT that had bolts thru the grate and into the pump tunnel?
I've searched but cant find it again. It was a couple of years ago or more.
    Thanks

Hello, I bought some hull inserts that were to be epoxied in, but considering mine was beyond repair I converted mine to the X setup. It was pricey, but one of the best mods! Here is the thread. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...highlight=shoe Some put through bolts in the shoe, but I felt that was just a band aid and not the proper way to do it. Hope this helps.

BTW- Here are the inserts I am referring to http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=82108

I was looking for that thread also but couldn't find any info after the thru-bolt install. I just did the same mod since my inserts ripped out and the ride plate hole stripped. I drilled and taped the ride platethen put a stud in with a nut ontop of the plate so even if the threads dont hold it will be bolted in. I drilled threw the shoe and bent some stainless carriage bolts. Grinded down the heads a little and set everything. Haven't been on the water yet, hoping this doesnt cause any cavitation issues or loss of speed. Anyone do similar and have any feedback?

I finally got the ski back on the watrer today. 68.1MPH @7900rpm. The threw bolts on the intake grate have not caused any cavitation or speed loss, ski feels pretty good. I might take off the 13/18 solas and have SpeedFreeks repotch it since I am not getting full Rpm which I believe should be about 8100rpm correct me if I'm wrong. One issue that has showed its face again is when its warm and I restart it. The fist time it wont start just turns over, let off start button and starts on the second try. Happened a few times last year also, maybe a fuel injector leaking fuel?? Any thoughts? I changed the fuel filters.
