New ski, left for deployment and did not winterize...Help!

Hey guys new to the forum, I have a 2012 GTR 215 I have about 4 hours on the engine. I left for a no notice deployment in October. I just got back and not sure what I should do. I'm curious about how much work my ski will need. Also I'm located in southern VA. Thanks.

Welcome to the Hulk and thanks for your service..

Being in so VA you should have nothing to worry about.. Put the key on and fire it up then check the fluids.

If you have a wet cell battery check the fluid levels and fully charge the battery. I would add an octaine booster or at least some stabilizer to the gas tank. You could add some fresh gas if there isn't much in your tank. If you want to take it to the extreme you can drain the tank and add fresh gas. check oil and coolant levels to be safe then fire it up. If you are not on a hose no longer 15 -30 seconds. If she fires and sounds ok take her to the water and have fun.

IMO never put snake oil in your fuel. Fresh fuel yes.

The fuel is going to be bad because of 6 months of sitting.
I would pump n dump it.
Also run a double dose of fuel Injector cleaner thru it.
Clogged Injectors can burn a piston.
    Better safe then sorry.

I deal with a lot of old gas in skis I buy and fuel older than 5 months usually fouls the plugs and makes the skis run like crap.

Thanks for your service YOU ROCK!!!

Welcome to the Hulk, THANK YOU for your service, as a VET myself everyone on this forum has been great!

I agree, drain the old fuel and let her rip. In the future StaBil works great.

Very good all around fuel injector cleaner / fuel additive = SeaFoam. You can get it at O'Reilly Auto Parts, AUtoZone, Walmart etc for about $8, Great product!!
