What will I gain from conversion to the HO pump?

Have seen this mod mentioned here before. What exactly is required (other than the bigger hubbed pump itself? Different shaft? New impeller? What is there to be gained?

All you need is the pump housing and rear cone. Everything else is the same. Might as well change bearings and seals though, about $50 in parts if I remember right. Doing that upgrade to my XLT as we type. Of note is the 04 XLT has a shorter drive shaft than most year GPRs so you can't just swap a GPR pump in like I thought I was going to do. Weird, cause my XLL's have the longer GPR shaft.
Also I believe Jim of Jims performance stated the 2" extension is not a good choice on a XLT, so doing that upgrade is probably not worth it.
"They" say improved hookup is the biggest gain from the larger hub pump, don't know yet on mine, ice is prohibiting use at this time.
