How high can you spin stock springs with better retainers?

Has anyone had failures? I don't want to hear "8300rpm" without a reason attached to it. My machine guy said he was spinning his to 8900 with Ti retainers for over 50 hours now. Jay said it's safe to 9k with my cam and a flash. ANyone have any experience?

I would say mid to upper 8's quite honestly I spend the few extra bucks and be safe and buy the springs and save my motor from possible failure. What jay are you referring too?

Miliken. I figure instead of buying a 15/21 prop I depitch my 14/19r that I've added 4.5mm to about +2mm and once I finish plumbing in the type 5 IC and reflash it I should be around 8600rpms

A 15/21 will holeshot better than a 14/19r with same pitch on either one. The root angle is different and it makes a difference, if you are making HP.

I ran stock springs, les Ti retainers, and stock springs with rotax shims @8600 for years. Then after the reflash to 9200, I lightened the Stock intake valves, and upgraded the springs.

They will hold 9200, but would need to be replaced if they have alot of hours on them. They all lose tension over time..

I ran the Riva retainers (the ones made for stock springs) for a while at 8800 with no problems. Only reason I changed them out was because I went with a setup to spin well over 9k
These are the ones I'm referring too http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1239
