Innovate MTX Gauges v- Serial Connection from gauge to gauge

I am looking to daisy chain all my MTX gauges together (7 in all) via the use of their serial in / out ports and then onto a data logger.

It seems they need a cable from each gauge to gauge. IE both connections that come out of the gauge are both female so you cant connect them together without the use of an additional cable.

Pretty poor design that gets you to have to buy the link cable for circa $15 each.

That would not be to bad but as I will need 7 or 8 of them it gets costly, plus shipping to England, plus import tax etc.

Has anyone that has used these gauges found what type of connector these are and who makes them?

I would like to but the ends only and make my own leads of the correct length if possible.

The picture below is the one that Innovate sells, so I need ends like this. I think they MIGHT be from http://www.molex.com/molex/products/...annel=products but cant say for sure.

Maybe someone has already done the hard work on this one that could save me hunting etc??

Interesting, my MTXL just has spade terminals for serial.

I wish mine had. The earlier products in their range seem to have 2.5mm jack connections.

This pic shows what I have in the back of one of the EGT gauges.

Both female sockets. I have checked all the gauges I have, all the same so it's not a production error.

Ya I was thinking that, but then if you need to reprogram the gauge or do a firmware update on it the other PC serial cable wont fit.

Hoping I get a response from Innovate as to what connectors they are and I will go buy them for $0.35 each or something silly!

Innovate response = Buy a cable

Each cable is 4 ft long and I have 7 Innovate gauges to connect = 28 foot of cable to daisy chain them together = fail....

    Perhaps an adapter is available?

Not according to Innovate - It's the 4 ft cable or nothing.

    What I am doing is......

Each bit of kit comes with a serial lead to allow the gauge to be connected to the PC for programming.

So, I have 7 of these leads and only need one of them.

The other end of the lead has the missing connection I am searching for so....

I will be cutting up the spare serial programming leads and cutting off the 'In' leads on the gauges and soldering the wires together to make the connections I need and what you would think the gauges should come out the factory like.
