    Cylinder Head?

So I recently Purchased a 2001 gp1200r with a blown engine now that I have gotten it torn down I noticed that the head has been milled from what i checked it looks like it has been 70 thousandths which i think is a 41cc chamber but im not to sure. My question is Im building this ski to keep and replace my sea doo and I want it to be able to run on 87 at most 89 octane but is this head going to make the compression to high for those octanes. I do have pics if it helps but there hard to tell in them oh and I do have two heads since I am rebuilding to skis my gp and my dads xlt 1200. thanks
    AJ

I wouldn't run 87 or 89 octane with higher compression heads. I would look for a stock head. There are plenty of them around.

What are the potential dangers of running the head that I have with 89 octane I want to build this engine as bulletproof as possible.

Why don't you want to run 92 octane? You might risk engine detonation. If you don't plan on any engine mods, then I would put the stock head back on. You could probably find one on the forum for $50. My engine builder doesn't want me to run anything less than 92 octane and never get gas on the water but; I have a few more mods than just a head.

my main reason is most of the places i ride they only offer 89 octane i do have a riva stinger exhaust and reed stuffer possible going to get a new impeller soon. the reason I was asking was me and my dad bought 2 skis my gp1200 and his xlt his xlt has a riva stage 2 I believe and im gunna take his riva stuff and he is going to fix and sale his and his head was milled 70 thousandths and my head has some damage on it I prob will just buy me a new head.
