    Bilge Pump on GTX LTD

Just installed bilge pump on my 2011 GTX LTD When I press the start button it comes on for about a minute and then shuts off. It is the OEM pump from SeaDoo. Does it stay off until you restart or water gets in the hull then it automatically comes on?

Every 2-1/2 minutes it will turn on. If it senses a load (water!) it will run until the load is gone.

BTW, is there 3 wires coming out of your pump, with only 2 being used?

Pretty sure the seadoo pump is just meant to run continuously.

The pumps used are rated at continuous running so will run as long as the dash is powered up and like you said for up to a minute afterwards

moultrie rxp, does your bilge pump run constantly when the engine is running, or does it shut down after a minute or so?

    Bilge Pump

Can't tell if it is running or not when the engine is running because of the engine noise. Thought it would be strange it would run all the time. On the Suspension Model it is a little diffucult to manuver you hand around in there to fell and see if the pump is running.

bilge pump is cooled by water just like your fuel pump is cooled by fuel. It will not run all the time or it would burn itself up plus create unnecessary load on the system. If it's staying live you need to look into a rule with a digital switch

I can't see how it could be connected wrong to make it run all the time. Its only 2 wires to connect up. I ordered the pump from Seadoo and had my Seadoo mechanic to install it.

I really thought my initial post (post #2) in this thread described the particular Rule pump used in this SeaDoo kit. That pump is automatic and does not need an external switch...it is all self contained. I would of expected it would of had 3 wires...with only 2 being used.

I have the kit on order and will post what I find when I receive it.
