2006 Cluster/Ecu Marrying with Candoo
I just got done with all of my winter mods. I bought a Candoo Because I figured that I would need to marry the cluster to the torx ecu. I bought this ecu outright a while back so that I could still retain my oem one if need be. I was surprised when I hooked it up to the candoo... the info on the ecu was interesting. The hour and service hours were zeroed out as well a owner info.( No idea how many hours it really has I guess.) No run history and when I went to the cluster tab and it did not need to be married. thought it was strange...prepared to be screwed like it probably wouldn't marry or start up for that matter. Surprisingly it did dash and all!. The Candoo still is an awesome tool. Nice to Enter your info into it. Dess was off but I was able to program both the regular key and the learner as well. Don't know if the learner software will still work but we'll see. Can't wait for warm weather, still cold as *uck here...

If the ECU already matches the same cluster number there is no need to marry.

Thanks for the good feedback. FYI, there are a limited number of codes for the cluster marry process. We have seen instances of the numbers randomly matching, and not needing to marry the cluster. (I have seen this personally...)

Guess I just got lucky...That's a good start...maybe I'll hit my goal of 80 when the warm weather hits...
