First Post, Getting a GTR215 Anything i need to know?
Just cut a smoking deal on a 2012 GTR215, i pick it up from the dealer in two weeks. I currently have a 2011 GTI130 but it was time to get a second ski and some more power, love my hull and really happy that seadoo put the 215 in the GTI hull
The supercharger has me scared to death though. From what research ive done it seems that seadoo fixed the ceramic washer fiasco, but still haven't confirmed. Would you recommend doing the RIVA washer plates anyway? also anything else i need to know for maintenance? my GTI130 is babied and honestly looks like it was rolled out of the showroom yesterday and i bought it for it being fun and "reliable"
Can maintenance on the 215 be performed by me? (i do all my own on the GTI130) does the super charger need to be rebuilt at 100 or 200 hours?
Thanks Guys! looking forward to being part of the forum

As for the washers, the new chargers come with the metal ones and you will be fin. Also, while it may say in the manual that your charger can be rebuilt at 200 hours, most people on the forums would not recommend going over 100 hours without a rebuild. Lastly, you could do all the maintenance by yourself, just keep a good record of it just in case your dealer wants proof in case of warranty issues. That might be something you would want to talk to them about before hand.
and WELCOME TO THE HULK!!! Its like meth, but more addicting!

Great choice of ski! Things to look out for. The seat rubs on the fiberglass you will see a rub spot form. I notified my dealer but no fix. Watch out when using premium fuel it will turn the orange to white, just wax it really good and the color will come back. Have 70 hrs on mine, IBR went out but replaced under warrenty and the motor was mis-aligned from the factory creating a small leak by the carbon seal. But all in all a good fast ski that keeps up with the 260s.

Thanks guys for the welcome guys .
really excited about her, I think more so then my first ski. Glad to hear that it isn't all that much more maintenance and glad to hear they fixed the washer issue. It's going to be a long 2 month wait until we can get out in the water
