XLT1200 hood hinge, XLT1200 OEM cover

I need a 2001 XLT1200 hood hinge that is in good working condition, including good struts. I am aware there are two different types of hinges out there, one of which has two struts, and one that has one strut and a cable. I had the one strut type with a cable, although I am not the original owner so I cannot say with certainty that it was the correct one.

I also need an OEM cover. Used is fine as long as there are no major rips or major mold growth.

If you have either of these, please PM me a picture and a price shipped to 06484. Thanks!

Swap the cable if you buy ctct's.
The double strut was for the xlt with the smooth rounded hood. It was much heavier. Its the hood thats on the ski in my avatar. I have a 03 xlt as well with the lighter hood, has one strut. 01 the 12 had the lighter hood and the 800 still had the older hood. you should be ok.

Thanks for the info! Will it fit right out of the box if I don't swap the cable? Its the same bracket though right? It will still line up? You said the 01/02 xtl1200 had the lighter hood, and mine is a 2001 so I guess I do.

same plate and all just one extra strut. Hood will spring up a little faster thats all. They were not that strong to begin with. Big thing with those dont force it down fast it will blow out the diaphram in the strut and render them useless. You can hear the fluid moving it when opening and closing. Just treat them gently and they last a long time.
