    Rebuild on my 95 xp

Bought her in package deal at very cheap the 95 xp was had engine inside but its wrong one it was came from 94 xp so took it out and I look at other engine that was already out its 787cc the guy told me he think that one has bad crank shaft and the crank was turning very tight not smooth like supposed to be (almost like sized up bearing) After I start taking apart turned out everything look good spin freely smooth after I remove other half. This missing teeth gear is what cause like that and how do I take this part out? already took the lock ring out but still not sure what to use to pull it out? Also do anybody have spare piston I need replace one its from sbt piston so will have to be same one but the question is can I change just one piston or best to change both at same time?

You will have to get a Rotary valve puller to get it out. That looks like a 717 engine in the photos.

You are right about 717 not 787 (the guy told me wrong) anyway I took all 717 and its in pieces there several are missing like carbs, stator cover and top head u know the two pieces the bottom part are missing and there box of bolts and nuts def will need help on find out where it go I am sure few are missing as well.
The two engine are complete for 94 xp and 95 spi.

You will have to use the 787 electronics, stator, magneto, trigger coil, mpem, cdi, mount a rear elec box with a coil. You would really have to gut most of the electric system. The 787 has a completely different ignition system than the 717 and 657. Also you would have to glass in a front motor mount or get a conversion bracket. Just to name a few...

    Different exhaust system as well....

Not worth it I already have a modified project on my 1994 xp for 951cc and don't want to do another modified job. I found gti with same motor but the question is there any different between 96 gti and 95 xp?

the gti may have a single carb, if so just switch the intake and your good to go.

You would be better off fixing up the 95xp and keep it stock, if ya don't want any extra head aches.

According to the specs on a 96 gti, it has the twin 38i carbs. The only way to know for sure is to pull the air box and visually see the twin carbs. I would use the carbs or carb specs of a 95xp. The Gti's main jets are a little leaner than a 95xp. From my tech specs source it shows the gti having 130 mains, The 95 xp had 135's

All I have to do is switch carbs and intake?
