    Bad blow by

I am working on a 2004 gtx with a plastic top oil filter housing not for long but 3 out of 4 of the taps in side in middle are broken I think they have went down oil tube and are trapped on oil pump screen. Could this be causing blow by? all cylinders are good compression 188-195 so bad that if you leave oil cap of oil will come up tube. Was just doing oil change and noticed this. first time I've worked on ski so guy before me could have tightened it too much and when I took it off they fell down. Some one that knows or has run into this please help.

blowby is caused by ring sealing nothing to do with the screen or pumps, Have seen many of those broken and bever had issue from it and always fit the alloy top when servicing one with it.
If the oil level is fine and valve next to the oil filler cap (tops valve) is opening with a loud click when you put the key there is not much else you can do. I would run it with cap etc on and see how much comes out of the dipstick tube. Is the engine consuming oil?
There is an oil pump right below the filler cap so might be making you think there is an issue when there is not as there will be a lot of oil/turbulence down in there.

Don't know if engine is consuming oil not my ski and first time serving it but oil level was good when I got it. Oil is coming out of the filler tube when I run it with out oil cap. Just wondering if any one has noticed their oil cap broken and pulled pto and found plastic pieces on screen or should I leave it alone? Not my ski and was just a oil change just don't wanna burn it up and he thinks I did something wrong.

buy a new filter cap, they are aluminum now
I am not sure what your asking, there is a breather vent that goes to the plastic intake tube, pull that out and see how much blow bye there

pull it off the factory intake and put the end into a empty 20oz. If there is more than a drop or two in it after running it for 3 minutes on the hose then it's time to find out what's going on

The blow by don't bother me as bad is if the 3 plastic pices off oil cap are in or blocking oil line. I did order new metal cap
