2013 300 with old style excaust filter ???

Well just pulled my filter out at 32 hours to find it dislodged out of the center into the excaust, but what is the real surprise it does not have the 2013 filter in it, it still has the old style with no hole in the centre and blue paint markings. WTF
Any 1 else pulled there 2013 out yet????

No as it only just started to not start right last weekend, and thanks for that about mid year addition, so 1st of the 2013 don't have new filter. $320 here in NZ for new type $260 for old one. So I will be buying from Greenhulk.
    Cheers

correct only later 13's had the new style , after they ran out the 12 style units that were already in engine units on the storage area.

For a filter to fail that early , I believe that some extra water can still be reomoved from the WB , as 2 of my filter that I have checked bot made it way longer , my green 12 300x is now at 79 hrs and it still looks like new
havent looked at my blue 300s yet as it only has like 40 or so hrs , So I know with my post ride/ storage routines it WILL be fine.

    Waz

We flush with fresh water then make sure we drain the waterbox starting the engine with the front of the ski raised. Heat disapates any moisture

It's not even worth inspecting it. Mine, almost like clockwork, are failing around 50 hours (old style, not new). It's pointless inspecting them. Mine have always looked good. I even inspected one at around 50 hours, looked good and it failed at 52 (it was actually the next ride). I'm just going to change it at 50 hours if it hasn't broken before then.

You can very easily tell when it fails. You lose some RPM (a couple hundred RPM) and you'll notice the hard starts, especially if you anchor it up while having some lunch or a coffee. I've fished three broken filters from the waterbox, takes only a few minutes to do.

    Cheers, Mal

Yep I do the same, even noticed the water box was dry when I pulled filter out yesterday, be interesting to see how the new part lasts.
