    First ride of the season.

Spent 4 awesome hours touring the shoreline of our Nations capitol. 53 degree water and 90 degree plus air temps.

Except for a wicked sunburn(forgot sunblock) and a possible chemical burn(nasty water lol) it was a most fantastic day.

Amazing!! Where did you put in? IIRC isnt there a ramp in Alexandria?

we visit DC frequently because of my dads job, now that were getting a second ski this is on our todo list this spring

Also, What is it like to boat along the Potomac? any registration? I imagine security is probably pretty tight?

I put in at Gravelly Point right at the end of National Airport in VA. It's a park with a public boat launch and limited parking. Gotta get there early, it fills up fast. No security issues, at least not for me today. All the water belongs to MD or DC so I do not think there is any permits. Only saw about 10 boats and one other ski. It is a nice place to check out but there tends to be lots of debris(sticks, branches, logs, and some trash) so you gotta keep your eyes peeled especially after a storm.

Not sure about the ramp in Alexandria. The next closest public one that I know of is down in Occaquan/Woodbridge area. Most of the Marinas around DC are private/members only types. I'll find out more as time goes on. Been doing a lot of searching for places to put in.

I'm sure others will chime in that know this area.

I forgot to mention the crap load of "No Wake" area's. Lots of those skinny row boat guys coming out of Georgetown. They did not like me

Nice scenery. I gulped down a few sips of the East River when we did the NYC run last fall. Thought for sure I was gonna wake up with a tumor in my throat the next day! Talk about toxic water I think I saw a 3 eyed fish at the enterence to Newtown Creek lol.

My eyes were burning a bit after this ride lol. Didn't see any corpses on this go around(they are always finding someone in the water). The sun was a shinning and the Blossom's were a blooming so it was good

The boat ramp is right under the flight path.
