    Supercharger Washer Replacement

Hi everyone, this has probably been discussed numerous times but as i am new i thought i would ask. I have a 2009 gtx IS 225 and is coming up to 75hrs, never missed a beat a runs fine, no mods and is generally used as a family ski. cruising and towing. I am concerned about the supercharger washers, BRP UK said 100hrs or wait for message on display, but it seems they should be replaced sooner. The ski is still under warranty til end May 13, should i get this done and how much to do it, including removing the charger from the ski. i am fairly confident at having ago and have seen lots of details on how to do this, but not on a ski as new as mine. Please help???

it's always better not to wait for the message.

get it done 75 hours is close enough

If you've done any reading here or used the search, you'll find detailed information on any and all supercharger issues including the Admin's charger rebuilding service which quite a few of us here have used.
Shipping the charger to the US for rebuilding could be an option, depending on the skill and hourly rates of the UK dealer network.

Perhaps one of the UK members will comment

    oh yeah..welcome to GH

I'm looking for this document: http://69.28.79.48/Instructions/rs1750_hdw_946.pdf It is how to reinstall the washers. I am totally new to this site but would like to see this and see if I would consider tackling this part or just send it to Jerry. If I need to repost this somewhere else just let me know thanks.

    welcome to GH.

In a word. you can't go wrong sending your charger to Jerry for rebuilding.

I do several times a year. Sure I can buy the tools and do it myself..but for $75 you can have a guy that has built hundreds of charges do yours too..and it helps support one of the best resources on the web.

Does the 75 include the price of the washers or is that the labor?

Rebuild the entire charger washers and bearings.
If the bearings let go it can wipe out a lot of vital components on your ski.
It's a little more $$$ but if the bearings fail on the s/c it can cost thousands to fix all the damage.
I had the gtx I S and rebuilt mine at 125 hrs but that was all in fresh water lakes and the ski didn't come unhooked too often.

I had a XP a few years back and loved it. I am just thinking about getting back on the lake. I've been searching craigslist and found some RXP's and GTX's so I figured if I got a supercharged one I would just replace the washers right off the bat....

Washers and bearings every time you service the charger...
    Its the only safe bet.
